SOURCES & METHODOLOGY

Know what is verified.

House View is an independent Broadway seat-research project. We publish what the sources establish and keep missing evidence visible.

What is available today?

Our directory lists 41 theatres. 15 have recorded seat inventories; 7 link to external operator viewers and 8 use published numbered charts. No local ticket-seat views have been independently validated. Registry reviewed 2026-10-06.

How do we record seats?

Operator-map labels are captured from selectable markers. Published-chart labels are read from numbered PDFs and visually reviewed. We preserve section, row and seat labels as observed, including gaps and conflicts. Diagram positions are nonphysical 2D coordinates, not surveyed seat positions.

How do configurations work?

Every record includes a source date and configuration ID. Production-specific layouts remain separate. Source capture dates are not performance dates, and archived layouts are not claims about current availability. Shared links retain their configuration rather than silently moving a seat to a newer map.

What does a view label mean?

Operator viewer linked
The publisher offers a viewer. A link opens the full map; the visitor may need to select the seat again. Preview availability and accuracy are not independently confirmed for every location.
Published chart
Seat identities are recorded from a chart. This does not establish a view or a current production match.
Validated local view
Would require permitted imagery or geometry, a known seat and configuration, and independently checked camera and sightline evidence. No current seat meets that standard.

What about the 3D studies?

Our theatre architecture studies and James Earl Jones 360° tour are artistic reconstructions. Chair dimensions, room proportions and camera positions are estimates, not verified ticket sightlines.

The separate geometry study uses illustrative seats and architecture. It is not a ticket-buying guide. The hosted 3D references are credited third-party scenes.

Corrections and access needs

When labels conflict, the theatre page and seat picker show the unresolved evidence. Confirm current ticket labels, access routes and access requirements directly with the venue or official seller; these cannot be inferred from a seating diagram.

Privacy and measurement

The live site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits, page views, referrers and page performance. Cloudflare describes this service as privacy-first and does not track visitors across its customers’ websites. Your saved ticket offers and notes stay in this browser and are not sent to this analytics service. Shared links contain selected public seat labels and configuration, not a name or booking reference. Read how Cloudflare Web Analytics works.

We count page loads, not camera or lighting changes. Embedded seat pickers and preview sites are excluded. We honor Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. You can also exclude this browser; that choice is saved locally on this site.
